HOPE HOSPICE AT SHELL POINT
As with any milestone in life's continuum, the decision to move into hospice care can be a difficult one. Yet the palliative care offered for those who are terminally ill can provide the perfect solution for both patient and family. Hospice provides comfort, support, and state-of-the-art palliative care, delivered by an interdisciplinary team of trained caregivers. The hospice concept promotes peace, contentment and meaning during the dying process.

In conjunction with Hope Hospice of Lee County, Shell Point operates a 9-room hospice on the top floor of the Larsen Pavilion. These private rooms overlook some of the finest water views available at Shell Point, and may be shared by family members during this difficult passage. While at Shell Point's hospice unit, patients receive the full benefit of Shell Point's medical team: physicians, nurses, nurse assistants, social workers, pharmacist, dieticians, volunteers, and more.

The Larsen Pavilion utilizes the services of full-time chaplain Sue Stranahan, a registered nurse and former missionary who is available to provide spiritual support for patients and families. The 50-seat Pavilion Chapel may be utilized for services or quiet meditation.
